My name is Casey Hersch. I am a licensed clinical social worker and founder of LightYourSparkle.Life. As many of you know, I live with autoimmune
illnesses and have a history of childhood trauma, which are my inspirations for the Light Your Sparkle community.

When I was a little girl one of my favorite playtime activities was pretending I was a good witch. In this imaginary role, I was powerful and in total control of my life. I created magic potions which tranformed insensitive adults and bullies into harmless and loving animals. I cast spells to transport me into a safe home environment with two nurturing parents, and I waved my magic wand to bring presents from my wish list. When I felt sad or alone, I cast a spell on my life every time I discovered a new coping skill and felt empowered over a difficult situation.Â
Â
Just recently, I thought about the ways I still cast spells on my life and bring positive changes into my world. As an adult I don't need a magic wand because I am completely in charge of my choices and life. Whether I am learning something new, shifting my thoughts to attract more positive energy into my life, or making dietary changes, I am casting spells on my life. I am imagining a new outcome, holding a vision for myself, and participating in what manifests in my life.Â
